Top Ten Hyped Books I Haven't Read (yet)

Top Ten Tuesday is a wicked awesome weekly meme from the ladies at The Broke and the Bookish.

I will admit that I sort of had a hard time with this one, just because "most hyped" is a vague category. In my time reading book blogs (and now blogging myself), I've noticed that there are plenty of books that get a lot of hype when they first come out that don't have much staying power in the long run. Also, hyped by whom? I went with books that have been out for a least year that still get a fair amount of hype. I do plan to read most of these at some point, although there are a few that I'm not really worried about missing.

Are there any majorly hyped books you haven't read yet?

  1. Memoirs of a Geisha was great. Lord of the Rings was also awesome. A lot of the others were still on my wishlist.

    1. Well that is definitely where I would start! I'm thinking about hunting down an audio version of the book.

  3. Eleanor & Park and Code Name Verity are both excellent - it's not just hype. =P I also haven't read most of the adult fiction titles on your list because I am the worst =p

    1. I try to read a good mixture of YA and adult fiction, mostly because I am an adult and I need to remind myself to act like it! But I could never ever give up YA, even if I don't always get around to the truly hyped up books.

    1. That's what I hear! It's nice to hear that a book really is worth all the hype it gets.

  5. Oh, there are so many books on this list that could have easily made mine too. I really want to read Jellicoe Road especially. I couldn't get through LotR, but I always tell myself I'll try again sometime.

    1. I tried to read LotR when I was in junior high, but I didn't get very far. I think it would go better a second time, but I don't know if/when I'll get to it!
